My story

My art depicts the world around me from everyday items to far away places. Once the idea sparks my imagination, I start with a simple sketch and progress with the layers of color. My artworks are primarily landscapes and still life in oil on canvas. Depending on the subject, I experiment with other surfaces and materials to accentuate or complement the artistic design.    ​

My creative practice follows the “ART=LIFE” concept. Through my art, I reflect and respond to events, seasons, and life happenings. One source of inspiration for my art are objects created by nature. The peculiarity of texture, the stillness of form, and the mysteries of shadows are the high points that inspire my creativity. Another theme close to my heart is traditional Judaica objects in conversation with passing time and light. 

My travel is yet another source of inspiration. I created a series of oils after visiting the remote Italian countryside. I am mesmerized by walking around the centuries-old sites while taking in the explosion of natural colors and the play of light, the chaos of streets, structures, and people. Yet, with the pace of modernity pressing on, these serene and seemingly frozen-in-time towns and hills look vulnerable in their beauty. This fragile beauty moves me to show it in my artwork. 

I live in Northern Westchester, NY and am actively involved in the local art communities such as Peekskill Arts Alliance, Garrison Arts Center, Mamaroneck Artists Guild. I exhibit in the group shows at Rockefeller Park Art Gallery, Vanda Gallery, Arbor Gallery, MAG Gallery, Yonkers Art, Pelham Art Center. Art was my passion throughout my life. At first, creating art was driven by a subconscious need to heal and calm. With time, it is becoming a way to observe and understand.

I am excited to share my artwork with the wider public and look forward to insights and thoughts it provokes.
